You may think that calling herself a Muslim Feminist puts her inside of a perfect little box but Leah Vernon is yelling surprise as she accomplishes what she once thought impossible. The Author, Orator, Model or whatever you want to label her as, is taking her message of accepting her body and everything it can do to the masses.
She wrote about accepting her body as is on her Beauty and the Muse Blog where is actually calls herself fat, talking about her rolls and curves in a less typical manner. Her blunt language and attitude comes off as very negative in the beginning since her focus seems to point to negative self talk at every turn. Reading through her sentences and knowing her story, at least in part, held me to the end. Then, I was glad I did not abandon reading the Blog Post to the end. Once I was there, I realized she had a message and something she wanted to articulate for a purpose. The purpose was for readers to focus on the positive which is something we should do just because we are aware of our own ability and what we have to offer.
