Things are really changing with the Customer Experience and no stone is sitting idol on the ground. Retailers are looking everywhere and seeking out different resources and ways to wow customers. Thinking Apple Pay? Well, more efficient ways to pay are not all that's in store for us!

Apparently, we have some futuristic thinkers who are having visions of what Retail will be like in the future. They are thinking: Talking Shelves and manicures and pedicures at the Drugstore. I believe one Walgreens location is already offering consumers massages and it doesn't surprise me. When consumers think of a drugstore, they don't always want to be thinking prescriptions. Maybe that's why the Health and Wellness Section is an aisle many consumers frequent for more than diapers.

Walgreens even partnered with Shot Vet to offer Pet Owners Services that will promote health and wellness for animals and Pet Clinics are up next!

Retail Power Players like Sona Chawla (President, Digital and Chief Marketing Officer) at Walgreens and Mary Dillion CEO (Chief Marketing Officer) at Ulta Beauty will team up to talk about future opportunities in retail while contrasting the Brick & Mortor Experience and Retail Experience in general. CEW (Cosmetic Executive Women) also shared more details, including the fact that the two will talk tactics on integrating the Omni Channel Experience.

That means being where the customer is and providing many ways to connect the customer with the products and services they need and want. I can certainly understand how important that is, since at Best Buy, we use BBFB (Best Buy For Business), bestbuy.com, in store ordering, and the Best Buy Marketplace to connect consumers with the products they love. There are even Account Managers at BBFB who stay in touch with business leaders and their team to ensure that the day to day operations are efficient as possible. It is about showing up where the customer is.

The event at The Harmonie Club will likely be interesting and beneficial to all Retail Professionals. The ladies will talk and will likely drop jewels that will help all those in attendance understand the vital role we all play in changing the Customer Experience daily. The event will take place on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 and will be moderated by Linda Wells, Editor & Chief of Allure Magazine.

Events like this are happening year round and are not always exclusive to members of Cosmetic Executive Women. If you can not attend this event, plan to be at another one in the near future. It is very possible to plan ahead. Events are usually announced well ahead of time.
